Police Commissioner Benjamin's
message on the evening was a powerful warning to anyone who
may wish to disrupt the safety of this year's celebrations,
that the intent and determination of law enforcement was
steadfast. With the witty use of 2008 calypso verses
throughout, he urged good behaviour with consideration from
all involved while emphasizing the resolve of his force to
ensure the festivities were conducted safely. Safety was
indeed a common theme for several of the speakers including,
Carnival Committee Chairman Mr. John Benjamin, Minister
Banks and Minister Rogers.

In addition to speakers, the CCB talented teen
competition contestants, Miss Anguilla Pageant
participants, Prince and Princess Show contestants, Miss
Tiny Tott 2008, Miss Anguilla 2007, Infusion Band, Motion
Band and others helped to make the evening an inviting one
for the full slate of activities to follow.
Even a late evening downpour was not enough to dampen
spirits on the evening.
Carnival 2008 in Anguilla is now OPEN!
