PUERTO RICO TRAVEL AGENCIES ASSOCIATION (APAV)

Thirty members of Puerto Rico Travel Agencies Association (APAV)
will visit Anguilla, on a three-day familiarization trip,
August 15th through the 17th.
The group will have the opportunity to become acquainted
with the various components of the Anguilla Experience;
including beaches, accommodations, cuisine, and remarkable
hospitality that have made Anguilla one of the top
destinations in the region.
The Ministry of Tourism and the Anguilla Tourist Board
recognize the immense potential Puerto Rico’s market
represent to for Anguilla’s tourism, and have intensively
been promoting Anguilla throughout various activities
directed to the consumer and the trade.
The agents will participate in a mini trade show, organized
in conjunction with Anguilla Hotel Association to be held at
the office of the Anguilla Tourist Board on Saturday, August
16th at 10:00am. The show will offer on- island properties
and trade related companies a chance to present their
services to the agents, and strengthen relationships with
them. The agents will also visit a selection of
accommodation properties on the island.
The visit is organized by Anguilla Tourist Board’s Puerto
Representative, Raquel Echandi and is supported by APAV and
American Airlines/American Eagle. Puerto Rico Travel
Agencies Association (APAV) is a non-profit organization
founded in 1972 and it is presided over by Travel Agent
Josie Lopategui, who will be accompanying the group. APAV
has 111 active members. Michael Rios, recently appointed
American Eagle Regional Director of Sales and Marketing,
home based in San Juan, Puerto Rico, will represent American
Airlines.
