Police appeal for eyewitnesses to the last lap murder to come forward - Blowing Point youth charged.

On Monday 11th August 2008, Mr. Brandon Romney of Blowing Point  appeared  before the court charged with murder for the stabbing death of Mr. Orlando Johnson 19yrs a Jamaican national residing at cedar village north side Anguilla. Mr. Johnson who was stabbed during the Carnival last lap street jam died at the princess Alexandra hospital on Saturday 9th August 2008 at about 11:38 pm. Mr. Romney has been remanded into custody and police detectives are appealing for more eyewitnesses to come forward.

Also on Monday, 11th August 2008 nine (09) young men appeared before the court on charges of throwing missiles - charges that resulted from an incident which occurred during the carnival street Jam. It was reported that several young men from two different groups attacked each other with stones and bottles, which brought the last lap jam to a halt. The persons charged so far,  who have appeared before the court are, Kenya Romney , Clashawn Richardson, and Larry Davis of Blowing Point, Kenton Connor, Gustave Lewis, Kerwin Brooks, Johanni Brooks, Elvan Connor, and Morvis Connor of the Valley. They were remanded to Her Majesty's prison.
