Digicel
Supports Reading Recovery as the Platinum Sponsor

The Valley Anguilla. Once again, the
telecommunications giant, Digicel demonstrates its
commitment to the youth of Anguilla and education. Digicel
is the platinum sponsor of the Reading Recovery Program in
Anguilla.
Now in its 10th year, Reading Recovery is an integral
component of early education. It is an intervention program
that is aimed towards low achieving children in grade one
and offers them a daily one-on-one instruction program with
specially trained Reading Recovery Teachers.
“Reading a fundamental skill that is essential in
successfully navigating every day life,” comments Ms.
Brooks, Digicel Manager. “Equipping our children with this
basic skill is our responsibility as individuals and
corporate citizens. Digicel is pleased to have this
opportunity to lend its support to this important program.”
Children accepted into the program receive daily 30 minute
lessons. The lessons are specific to the child’s needs and
range between 12 – 20 weeks. Reading Recovery Teachers can
work with up to four students at one time.
