Tropical Storm Gustav has killed at least 22
people in Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Reports on Wednesday said that 14 persons were killed in Haiti and

-including 6 children, were killed by mudslides in Santo Domingo in the
Dominican Republic.
The storm very slowly made its way out to sea
from the Southwest Peninsula of Haiti on Wednesday after being downgraded from a Hurricane overnight. The
National Hurricane Center in Miami is currently projecting that Gustav will
re-intensify as it traverses a proposed path between Jamaica and Cuba, heading
towards the northern Cayman Islands and Western Cuba before entering the Gulf of Mexico.
All three locations are within the cone of error for the potential 1-3 day
track area.
Due to the unpredictable nature of the storms the exact path and intensity
are subject to significant errors but forecasts show significant intensification
is expected.
